Course Outline
The Combined RYA Day Skipper Theory and Practical course runs over 9 days – starting on a Saturday and finishing on the Sunday 9 days later. It is the fastest way to complete the training and it works well if you can manage the high workload of the theory element which is compressed into 4 days 0900 to 1730 each day plus homework for the first 3 nights. If you are doubtful about this we recommend that you consider a separate theory course - classroom or home study and then book a separate day skipper practical.
Extras:
Theory Element: Plotter and dividers (£25 extra) available to buy on Day 1 or add the cost to your course fee on booking. Shore accommodation for 3 nights (Sat to Mon) or travel daily. You can stay aboard the yacht on the Tuesday night.
Practical Element: Wet weather clothing hire at £7 per day capped at £25 for the 5 days. Order and pay as part of the booking process.
The 9 day course is run over 9 consecutive days, price includes all essential study materials for the first four days (accommodation not included) , accommodation aboard from the 4th night (Tuesday) to 8th night (Saturday) and meals aboard throughout the Practical course.
Alternatively, you can complete the theory element via Distance Learning and then book the Day Skipper Practical in the format that suits you (weekends / week courses).
