What a great opportunity to enjoy Ireland (North and South), the Isle of Man and the West Coast of Scotland in one superb sailing adventure. Join the yacht in the heart of Dublin as we prepare the boat for the adventure ahead. Enjoy an evening in the city and then early next morning set sail across the Irish Sea to the magical Isle of Man. Here we'll sail past Calf Sound with its colony of seals and shape our course for a friendly welcome in Peel - a lovely fishing village on the west coast of Man. Enjoy the unique atmosphere of this lovely island before we make a passage northwest to close the Irish coast again. North of the border now we speed into Belfast Lough and our next port at lively Bangor in County Down. Next day we leave the Emerald Isle in our wake as we head north east to Scotland towards the dramatic beauty of the Mull of Kintyre. Perhaps there's time for a visit to Campbeltown in Kintyre before we head North with the tide underneath us for an express run around the Mull and into the sound of Jura. Ahead lies Islay. Where to stop for the night? The choices abound now. Port Ellen? Or an anchorage at Lagavullin Distillery? Or Gigha island? Next day we can race the porpoises through the Sound of Islay and find an anchorage in the remote natural splendour of West Loch Tarbert in Jura. Take the dinghy ashore, walk on the ancient beaches and sense the freedom of the wilderness. In the morning we haul the anchor and sail on through the islands and our journeys end at friendly Oban Marina.

Sail amongst minke whales near the Isle of Rum. Visit the grandeur of Skye and anchor under the dramatic Cuillins. Spend a night at anchor amid seals in the lovely Summer Isles and another in serene isolation in the Scottish west coast wilderness. Its now time to enjoy an exhilarating sail around Cape Wrath and along the remote northern coast towards Orkney and Shetland. This is real adventure sailing. Depending on wind and tide we‘ll aim to visit Fairisle and Shetland before heading back south to the Orkneys. The area is rich in archaeology and steeped in Celtic and Norse legend. We’ll pause in Stromness on Scapa Flow and there may be time here to take a car tour to some of the most amazing archaeological and historical sites before we sail on through Scapa Flow and carry the roaring tide through the mighty Pentland Firth to the Scottish mainland at Duncansby Head. The adventure continues with a visit to delightful Lybster or Helmsdale before the finale – a splendid sail south past the Black Isle and our destination at Inverness.

Experience the hospitality of this lesser-known part of Scotland; taste the malts of Speyside; visit small working harbours; see the Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen; breathe the fresh clear air; and enjoy exhilarating sailing across the Firth of Forth and down to landfall at the pretty fishing harbour of Eyemouth. Just to the south lies Holy Island – Lindisfarne – one of the cradles of Christianity in Britain – where we can anchor to visit the ancient abbey and castle. There will be time to visit the Farne Islands, scene of Grace Darling’s heroism and one of the finest bird sanctuaries in Britain. Seals inhabit the outer rocks. This is the Northumbrian coast – with its perfect unspoilt beaches, fabulous castles and lovely landscapes. Enjoy a night at anchor in the idyllic setting of Lower Newton by the Sea and then an express run south past the mighty rivers Tyne and Tees until the lively historic town of Whitby appears between the cliffs. This is a lively friendly place, home town of Captain Cooke and with lots more amazing history, is a perfect place to rest before the next big passage. Next morning we speed south along the beautiful Yorkshire coast, past Flamborough Head and then shape our course offshore and enjoy an exhilarating sail at night through the North Sea gas fields. Next morning we find ourselves off the Norfolk and Suffolk coasts and glide into the rural peace of Southwold, tying up just beside the pub for some well-earned rest and relaxation. Our final passage follows the ancient trade route south along the gentle Suffolk coast, past the River Orwell, into the mighty Thames Estuary and eventually to our home port at Chatham on the historic River Medway. What an achievement – nearly 500 miles in 8 days and experiences to last a lifetime. And it’s the end of a great circumnavigation of Britain.

Join us for this wonderful autumn cruise to Holland. The Dutch are a great sea-faring nation and the beautiful medieval towns in the Scheldt estuary bear witness to an illustrious past and rich tradition. The great Thames Estuary has an equally rich maritime history and this cruise is a great opportunity to experience the region at first hand – on the sea. Following the route of the old sailing barges from Chatham on the historic River Medway we speed down the great Thames estuary past ancient banks and wartime forts, past the distant shores of Essex to delightful, unspoilt harbour of Southwold in the lovely Suffolk countryside. From here we set sail again for an epic voyage across the southern North Sea to a landfall in the Oosterscheldt delta in Holland. Here we enter the Dutch inland waterways with their wide canals, spectacular sea defences and vast sheltered sailing areas. Leaving the North Sea behind we are now in calm waters and sail through gentle countryside to visit the beautiful old towns of Zierickzee, Veere and Middelburg. There is no better way to see and enjoy these places than to arrive by sea and berth right in the centre. Then its back out through the giant locks at Vlissingen (Flushing) to the Westerscheldt and an express run south to lively Ostende in Belgium. Time here for some well-earned rest before our return passage across the great Dover Strait to Kent and journey’s end at the Medway. What a feast of travel – East Anglia, Kent, Holland and Belgium – and great sailing experience too.
